Intercultural Communication and Diversity for Professionals, is a four-day course for cross sector diversity awareness and skills development. This course has been carefully formulated to help build cultural humility and effective intercultural communication skills. Attendees will learn how to raise their own awareness and understanding of different cultures and sensitivities. It is an interactive course with case studies and roleplays and many activities throughout.
This is the first in a series of courses that will explore cultural sensitivities and how to combat biases. We spend some time in these areas to raise important issues and provide helpful tools for better communication strategies to use in workplaces and in your personal lives.
We are also developing courses on Intersectionality, LGBTQ2S+ and Islamophobia. Our intention is to provide a deeper understanding of culturally sensitive areas. These courses are the building blocks for our continued efforts is raising mindful awareness of diversity and inclusion in Canada and beyond.
The course is currently being held virtually on Zoom. We will meet daily from 9 am to 4 pm with a lunch and health breaks throughout each day. Attendees will be supplied with course materials and will be given daily exercises for participation. Our role-plays and case studies will be held in virtual rooms, in small and large groups.
Following completion of the course, you will receive the Accredited Diversity Facilitator™ (A.D.F) certification.
